Gary died March 10, 1972 on his way to watch MHS play basketball in Austin. Gary lived 2 houses down from me since our families moved to Midland in the 50s. We played football, baseball, basketball, climbed trees and dug huge holes in his backyard! He was my best friend. There are too many memories to write here but I miss him every day. We may have all changed through the last 35 years but missing him has never changed. -Beth Rodgers Murphy
I will never forget Gary Kellett. He was my lab partner in Biology. He was always so nice and sweet. Little did he know, I had a huge crush on him. I knew it could never go anywhere because he was such a sweet friend. I will never forget how our entire class cried our eyes out when Mr. Payne (it think that was his name) stood before our class with the tragic news. I know he is still missed and loved by so many.
