The tragedy of losing both Rebecca and Laura Van Peldt in a train crossing accident was very hard - two sweeter (and smarter!) girls cannot be imagined. Rebecca and I went to Jean Bay's play school across the street from where Rebecca grew up.

Laura was my lab partner in biology and one of the nicest people you've ever met. I never got over her just not showing up for class one day.

Carolyn Futrell (Quine)

I was in girl scouts with Laura when we were younger. She was a very sweet girl. Her death was the first I experienced and made me think about ones's mortality. I had the pleasure of having her parents as patients in teh later years. Very sweet family Carolyn Futrell QUine

Laura and Becca Brown tragically lost their lives in a train accident on the way to a Girl Scouts meeting many years ago. Laura and I were both in the band. She was a good musician and had a sweet personality.

I remember where I was when Kennedy was killed, when the Challenger exploded, and I so remember where I was when I heard the news of Laura and Becca. Life as we knew it had changed. I knew Laura as far back as Elementary school and all the way up until that night. If you are able to choose your mansions in Heaven, be sure that Laura chose the burnt orange one with the UT flag flying in the yard. Laura, we miss you.
